Kristen ("Krissy") has been working as a lawyer at DCAC since 2021. Her passion, drive and positive attitude allow her to create bonds with her clients and her compassionate yet practical approach helps her clients seamlessly navigate the CPP Disability appeals process. As a Newfoundlander, she completed her undergraduate studies at Memorial University of Newfoundland, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in French and Folklore. In 2016, she attended both the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, graduating with both her Canadian and American Juris Doctor degrees in 2019. She then went on to complete her articles in 2020 at a full-service law firm. Krissy's background in litigation and her client- satisfaction-based approach allow for exceptional submission writing and client interactions while developing files and litigating them at the SST.
Krissy believes that her client's story is the most important building block in presenting their case in the CPP Disability process. For that reason, Krissy strives to ensure her client’s voices and stories are heard. A client's story, combined with Krissy’s knowledge of legislation, case law, and passion for helping people brings a creative and unique perspective to the team. During her studies, Krissy lived abroad for several years and studied French, Spanish, Italian, Latin and Irish Gaelic. In her spare time, you can find her at the gym, or cooking a lavish meal for friends and family.
